Are all OEM fenders marked? I have seen stampings on the underside of OEM on some fenders and some are stamped on top (250r). Is there a way to tell on a 85-87 Big red?

Oem are injection molded plastic and Maier is not very easy to tell apart from each other. Oem are thicker than maier bracket area is molded into the back side of oem Maier don't have anything on back side

I studied pics for hours to find differences. Best I can tell the color is better and the fine contours near the inside front of the fender was different on the rear fender. The front I could see the stamping so I know its OEM. I am 90 confident I did well and I dont even own a big red.

A glance....sorry lol.. Maiers are red everywhere. They have no provisions for the side black markers nor the black rear mud flap. They are solid red. and usually cut crooked under the taillights lol.

ATC007 You sir are correct. The ones I bought have the indent for the rear mud flaps. Unfortanately seller only had 3 left fenders and 1 front but I bought them all.

On the under side of that front fender you can see the "sprue" mark where the plastic was injected right in the middle, making that an injection molded part = O.E.M.
The way to tell is to look at the back sides of all the parts to see if there is a group of round, or sometimes elliptical marks. They will be very faint, so you might have to clean it a bit. These marks are witness marks left behind by the ejector pins in the injection molding process. Maier plastics are vacuum formed not injection molded so the Maier's won't have these marks. Injection molded parts are always going to be superior to vacuum formed parts.

Ya they were ebay, I was surprised nobody grabbed them before I finally convinced myself they were OEM.
