so trying to figure out brake rotor diameters.. I need a decent size front brake on my 400+ lb build.. Since I'm running XL600r forks, I was thinking about using the XL's twin piston caliper, with possibly an 85-86 R or 350x rotor.. but, I cant for the life of me find any specs that say the diameter of R, X or XL front brakes.. can anyone point me towards somewhere I can actually get an answer on at least the diameter of the ATC rotors? Backup plan is to make a hub adapter on the lathe that bolts to the hub, and accepts an XL rotor, but I would rather just bolt down a rotor.. my "lathe to do" list is already long.. and would like to save some time...

When I need a measurement for a part, I either buy a cheap one or find one on EBAY and or "ask a question" as far as I.D. O.D. But most of them don't have a micrometer or calipers for the width in thousandths.

Your probably gonna end up making an adapter, and it won't be bad being made of 6061....

I love using my lathe, I use it every time in the shop!!

Measured my XL and XR rotor diameters, both where 9-1/2", cann't get to my 350x but believe its the same as a 84 200x rotor 8-3/32". Although the XL forks are shorter than XR's, here's a pic of the adapter plate I made using XR rotor on a 350x hub and wheel assembly. Do remember slotting the fork caliper mounting holes a little to clear the 11" wheel.

I know, I know John, usually stored in the trailer but this pic was taken when I polished all the aluminum doing a refresh during summer of 2013.
