What would a fair price be on a '83 185s, that runs but smokes? It needs a top end rebuild, new muffler, and from what I can tell a front sprocket cover, possibly seat, and a few other things. It does need a front tire, but apparently one is included.
Here is a picture.

200 $ those rear tires suck in anything other than the front yard... around my area a nice running , complete needing nothing only fetches 300-500 $.

$150 max.
The listed things that are wrong are the only ones you know about right now.
You can sink $1500 in that thing and it will only be worth $800 if you are extremely lucky.
It is better to spend $800-$1000 on one that is perfect.

Trike prices have jumped here too. You cant even touch any honda three wheeler that runs for less than $500. Even the small bikes like the 125 and 110's. Average price people are asking here are from 700 to 2000. I picked up my 83 185s in 2010 for $150 like this not running

Same, they've jumped in the st Louis, Mo area as well. I've seen running 185s go for $ 6-800, and most of them needed A few things. Hell, a basket case is $300 anymore! 5-7 years ago, I could pick up beautiful examples for $300 all day, now they are going closer to $1200! It's ridiculous! Oddly though, quad prices are falling fast in comparison, I can find an 03 Suzuki Ozark 300 for about $900!
Also, I only picked mine for $150 , because it was a "buddy-buddy" price, and It needed a rear axle, plus the body was cracked. It ran through.
