Hiya guys, been a while since I been on here but I'm back. Anyway so my buddy got a 83 185s (the one with front suspension) and it needs a front wheel bearing. Trying to remove the axle, doesn't it just thread into the other side or whatever? Is it just seized in there? I tried about everything and im just rounding off the hex head. Something I'm doing wrong? Any ideas? Thanks

Yes it should just thread out. Are you using a 6 point wrench or socket.

The brake drum stay is most likely seized to the axle . Heat it up and use an air impact to remove the axle .

Yea I'm using a 6 point socket. Still managing to round it off with that though. Haven't heated it yet but I'll try that next just didn't feel like getting the torch out last night. I thought it may have something to do eiththe brakes, I disconnected the cable but obviously that hasn't helped. Any way I can get at the brake drum without taking the wheel and all that off so I can free it up and then be able to get the wheel and axle out? Thanks

Alright guys so turns out my buddy got screwed over. This thing has bigger problems than anticipated. Axle is not removable. Might just sell it, might part it out. Motor is still good, runs great and supposedly has a new top end. Ive got almost enough parts to build a 200x from the ground up, might build another auto x for him out of all the parts. Or, would it be possible to swap a 200x front end onto a 83 185s? Thanks

Why is it not removable?

I've found that crc freeze out and a weeks worth of heat and beat does wonders on those axles. wonder if you could get a piece of stainless round stock in the hole through the bolt head since its rounded off?

I've tried every trick in the book, it simply won't come out. And yea I did made a FB post about it. Will a first gen 200x front end bolt onto a 83 185s? Thanks
