Atc90 engine swap?

Has anyone here put a trx90 engine in an atc90? Just wondering if its possible and how much work involved. If not that motor any other options? Im thinking down this track as the performance atc90 stuff is crazy priced if you can find any!

I put a china 110 engine in a ATC 70 and it was nearly just a bolt in. All the motor mounts lined up perfectly. I would assume that it would be the same for a ATC 90. The hardest part was coming up with a way to mount the battery, but even that wasn't bad.
In the end I ended up with lights, electric start, and reverse.

The china 110 quads are everywhere- cheap. The engines are Honda 90 clones. The quads themselves are crap, but the engines seem to be built pretty well.

I just noticed your in Australia. The china quads may not be as abundant there. It would be worth a look though.

The atc70 and 90 have different engines unfortunately, i know that much. Just wondering how hard it is to modify for that style engine to fit the 90? As you said those motors are everywhere and have alot more power

The 70 and 90 are different but based on the same design. They have a lot in common, including the way the mount to the trike.

The TRX90 engines are built on a bottom end that is related to the 50/70cc engines, rather than the traditional atc90/trail90/110/125 bottom end. So a TRX90 engine doesn't bolt in to an atc90 or bigger. It can be adapted though, the same way people swap in the Chinese engines, which are all mostly copies of Honda 50/70 series engines.

Is anyone making a kit to do the swap? Few issues i can already think of is chain alignment, front mount and footpegs......

Dr ATV sells adapter brackets and foot peg adapters for the 50/70cc based pitbike engines to swap into a ct90/ct110. I'm sure there are others too. There are some pics of swapping a lifan 125 into a ct90 on dratv.com. Is the front mount necessary on the atc90? There isn't a front mount on the ct90 and the ct90 and atc90 mount to the frame the same way, correct?

Just realized I'm a year late on this post. I'm not used to seeing 2018 yet I guess...

Was one of the top posts on a search I did looking for information on a 125 Lifan into atc90 swap. Sorry for bringing up a dead thread, but I do have a question: is the front engine mount necessary on the atc90/110? Did they really use it to stiffen the frame?
