Does any one know if anyone makes a smaller front rim for the Tri-Z?

I have a 25-? X 12 tire on my YTM (forget how wide... wanna say 8" but could be wrong) anyhow 25" is way too tall for my 18" tall rear tires... lol it looks funny and I can't find something like a 22 or 23" tire for a 12" rim. One day damnit, I will have 22" tall rear tires but for now... 18" it is.

Yea Xowner makes the 10" tires, but it requires a basic front end swap on the tri z. If you want to modify your stuff its possible, I dont recall many other options.

I would just keep the stock front wheel and get a smaller tire. Not a cheap tire but look at the Kenda klaw k532 23x8r12.

When I swapped the taller 86 front end onto my 85 Tri-Z, I also changed from the 25" tire to a Maxxis M937 23x8x12, which is the OE size for an 86 Z. Seems like a great tire, bought new for about $110. I haven't ridden it yet so I can't give a ride report, but it definitely looks much better than it did with the 25" tire.

I hated the 25" front tire on my tri Z compared to the 23.5 on my 250r so I would try a 23 on it

Good deal...thanks all. I will go look for a 23" ... the 25" is just too tall... unless I can find some cheap 22" tires for the rear.

What do you mean by basic front end swap? I have a tri z front end on my dxn now, did they make different sized front ends for the tri z,s or something?

I believe he talking about swapping to a 10" 250r wheel. Which is on my list of things to do, there are unlimited tire options with a 10" wheel. Here is a link to the 23" I run and it works great.

I have a ambush 23-8-12 on the front of my tri-z... 1985 and 85.5 came with 25-8-12 fronts and 1986 came with 23–12
You won’t realize and difference... I have all models tri-z’s and I got 23 anytime I need a new front for any of my z’s

Ambush makes a 23-8-12 and it’s const effective and works great similar to a maxxis razor if I had to compare it to anything.

Only you don’t pay the maxxis premium price for the brand. I paid 45$ for my newest front about 2 weeks ago.

Taller?? ytz250s 1986 tri-z?? The fork tubes are bigger and t has a small amount more Suspension travel front and rear. However ytz250n 1985 has front tire 25-8-12 .... 86 has 23-8-12 these are factory sizes.. so I’m a bit confused with your comment.
