I just want to see what everyone else thinks of this. The past few nights i left my 200x outside under a tarp right next to the house, yesterday morning i got up and i realized the tarp was on the ground and my 200x was moved almost all the way to the road against a log with the kick starter out and in gear like they tried to push start it and drive off with it. Miraculously my throttle cable broke a few days ago rendering it unusable until i replace it. If it were not for that i think it would be gone.

What does everyone else think about this ? What should i do i dont have enough space to keep it in the garage forever and if i lock it up id want something that cant be broken.
Thoughts ? 238747

Sorry picture is small. idk how to enlarge it

There's a brand of ATV lock called a Kryptonite lock that's supposed to be pretty good. Look at kryptonitelock.com. It looks like you need something pretty solid to lock it to. Maybe you could also put some kind of alarm on it too.

if you cant keep it in the garage then put a chain and pad lock on it. yes it can be broken but its better than just letting it sit out in the yard. i would store it somewhere atleast for a while. you never know when the pricks might want to try again

Sounds like punks, not pros. Take the rear wheels off and get a bad azz dog. They looted the house 2 doors down from me at Christmas when we were away for a week. Got 100K worth of stuff. I'm sure they looked at my place, but I have a bad azz dog :naughty: He's worth his weight in dog crunchies regardless of how much of his poop I need to shovel every morning.

Punks having fun. If they wanted it that bad the truck would have been parked at the end of the drive way. With someone waiting to lift it in the back of a truck with out starting it up and waking anyone up. I would put up solar lights to come on under motion and wrap it with the thickest chain around the biggest tree if you can't store it inside.

I used to put a padlock with a long shackle through the sprocket and around the drive chain on my dirt bikes even in the garage. Or I would use a long, thick chain with multiple locks with to lock multiple 3 wheelers together. Now i just park a vehicle width ways in front of the garage. My thought was if the want one they have to work for it. Best thing to do also is make sure you have all of the serial numbers wrote down just in case the worst happens. Maybe even some identifying marks somewhere only you might look if it came up missing.

what about some kind of gps tracker, so if they take it you'll know where it is

Yeah the gps is a great idea. Always thought about that. Like put into a bit of the frame. That would be killer to be able to find where the scums were hiding it.

Since they know it's there they may come back for it. You might try a rental storage shed, depending on where you live they can be pretty cheap and often have security.

Leave your 200x sitting out in the open (bait) at night, wait for them to start pushing it away.... then beat them down & teach them a lesson!

Time to find or make room in the garage.

They sell right angle battery powered grinders, no lock or cable can withstand a cut-off wheel.

Mine are locked, and in a locked and alarmed shop that has 2 out of 5 cameras facing it which record to a 1TB hard drive hidden in my house. Good luck!!

My driveway is fairly long, but my camera still caught the guy who smashed in my mailbox.

He got bagged and a HUGE fine as it's a federal offense; Lucky he didn't get sent to prison!!

Chain a dig old Rotty to it... that should keep it safe... lol seriously though, cement a thick pole into the ground and have someone weld a 4 foot thick chain to it and chain the trike to that and use a really good lock. Sure they can cut the chain but have you ever tried to cut a chain with a hack saw? Lol just g t one thick enough that they'd need a really HUGE bolt cutter to snap it.

But those are pretty noisy and he could maybe hear them using it.

Opportunists... my nephew left an almost brand new Suzuki Quad racer out in his back yard one night, got up the next morning and it was gone! Someone drove by, must have seen it (no fence, corner lot) and just took off with it.

Unless it's under his window, thieves don't have to wait for midnight. Rather a time that there is noise in the house.

My Dewalt Rt. angle cutoff .050 thousandths disc is not all that loud. Grinding metal with a grinding disc, yes; But slicing thru steel cable, not too loud IMHO...

I even put hard steel inside my Honda generators handle so it can't be sawn thru when locked; That's how they steal them!!

REMEMBER!! NEVER ADVERTISE YOUR STUFF!! Don't leave it outside or ride it on the front lawn where people can see it. Those are the ones that come back to get it, but I still feel that most thefts are from friends or acquaintances of theirs, You know who would do this to you versus NO CHANCE. That should give you a smaller group to spy on.

I really hope you get it back!!
