Decided to swap my stock 250r headlight (250r forks on an 86 250sx) to an LED light, so much brighter then stock. If I had cut into the housing more i could probably get it to fit lower and further back in the housing, but where it sits now all i had to do was trim the lip at the bottom of the opening, all the stock headlight mounting points are still there so it can be put back in if i want to swap back. the LED light is just low beam so i no longer have a high beam but to be honest with how bright it is i dont think i would need a high beam. And since its a 250sx i didnt have to do anything to the wiring to make it work.

Here is the LED light i used if anyone is interested.

A little off topic from the light, but did you put a complete 250R front end (tripples, forks, brakes, etc) on your SX? I've got an SX and have been thinking about doing a conversion of some type. Which year 250R did you use? Thanks.

The 250r front end was on it when i got the trike. From what i can tell its a late 250r (85-87) front end based on the brake rotor/caliper being on the 'driver' side and the head light housing. But yea its a complete 250r front end (the triples, forks, brakes, tire, etc), all i needed was the tapered roller bearings for the neck to make it work since when i bought it they had kept the original ball bearings in it and the triples had about 1/2" of play within the neck.
