Getting started on a 450x conversion. I guess I'm going backwards, I'm doing the front end first, lol! Plan on making a field cruiser and next year a trip to glamis is in the works! Here is a pic from today, just need a front fender and a tire to finish it off.

You're doing it in the correct order, don't worry. 450x s make very nice trikes, I'm sure you'll be happy with the end result. Good luck and keep us updated

Where is the best place to buy a front fender? Looking for white 250r? I know I can get one through maier but anyone on here selling one?

Ordered my fender off ebay, cheaper than maier. Triples are plan b.

Are you going to use the bike engine? Just wondering what you're going to do about the kicker hitting the fenders.

Using the bike engine, the kicker may have to be shortened, but I have electric start with the x.

have you done any measuring to see how the trx swinger is gonna mount up?

Yea the trx swinger is a no go, the shock setup is all wrong, I want to use the factory crf mount on the frame. I'm having a swingarm built, 1 inch over.

custom swingarm will make it more unique and keep good rear suspension geometry can't wait to see it, where do you get the Plan B triples?

Update, got the front end mostly put back together. The caliper is really close to the wheel, maybe have to grind about 1/16th off. Used the full size crf rotor and this is on a ten inch wheel, an 11 would have been easier.

I believe "Plan B" is Louis Meikle(spelling)? He is a member here.

Hey! You can't tease us like that! Take that brake guard off and give us some pictures of your front hub setup! Inquiring minds need to know haha

22x8x10 sandstar front tire. 10 inch rim from Jonathan, not sure what his sign on is on here. I probably should go with a 7 inch wide front tire, but I think this one will work, ts just close. The caliper is very close to the rim, just touches it in a few spots, probably runout from the wheel. I'm going to grind about a 1/16 off the caliper where it touches.

Judging but what's hitting that shouldn't hurt anything , you might want to take some more for good measure.

Yes, a couple fins need a very light amount of material to be removed.

I use a roto-loc sanding disc in my pneumatic die grinder.

Make sure whoever is building your swingarm sets it up for the right seat height. I've seen allot of conversions and some are too high; A lowering link helps as well.

You may also want to make up some brackets to move the footpegs a bit further forwards. Dirt bikes location is further back than the 3 wheeler likes to be...
