What are you tri-z guys running? I tried looking for aftermarket clutch baskets but seems I am SOL.
So far I crossed part numbers and found the following models swap below swap. However most any 30 year old basket is going to be groved like saw teeth. Trying not to file down the fingers if I do not need do. Rather would replace with somthing billet alum and wear coated if I can since I am in here. Wondering if anyone swaped somthing else like banshee or blaster since sometimes things still fit but have different part numbers.

83-87 yz 250 is the only option for aftermarket. there used to be a Company called Talon that made them over seas. google them and see if they still make em.
other than that, you will have to see if you can find a Sprock basket. Try greg at off-road innovation. He had some sprock leftovers for sale for a while.

Does your contact mean "clutch basket" rather than "clutch cover"? 200 is a good price. I have a Sprock basket but if I get another Z this is good to know.

It's in and running. Clutch pull is a tiny bit smoother but can't really tell a difference. Ss long as it doesn't groove like a stocker I'm happy. I did have to remove a little bit of a casting mark on the inside of the clutch cover that was rubbing.

Sweet, looks beefy. I've got a Sprock basket. It's similar but each finger on the basket is machined down the center to about the midpoint--like the stock basket.

Wow, that thing looks beefy! I ordered what looked like a decent used one on eBay that hasn't arrived yet. If it's not a good as I'm hoping I'll have to look into one of those. Does it use the Yamaha plates?

They did that because it rubs on the inside of the clutch cover. I had to remove a little rib 1/16 deep about 1/2 inch long then it cleared.
