Here's what I dragged home today. Unmolested 1985 Honda ATC 250SX for $400. I know it's not the deal of the century, but I've never owned an SX before so I'm pretty excited about it. Bought it off the second owner, who bought it when it was a year old in '86. It's had minimal use, and has been sitting for the past 2 years. Seller said it wouldn't start, which is why he decided to sell it. Got home and checked for spark, which it has - so must be a fuel issue. Looked in the tank and there's some rust at the bottom, so gonna give it the vinegar treatment and carb clean. Should fire up after that. Too bad the seat vinyl dried up and so it pulls the front of the seat away from the tank. Hopefully it will fit better once I reupholster it.
A lot of surface grime/algae...should clean up nicely with a warm soapy bath!
My wife asks me, "How many trikes do you have now?". Nothing like putting a guy on the spot. She just doesn't get it so had to post up on here where perhaps it will be better appreciated!

Ride it like you stole it, because you did. Nice snag!

From the prices I've seen across the boarder I'd say you did alright. Damn those bikes up north become rusty.

.
Heck, Ive spent more than that on dinner with 3 friends and all had to show for it was a couple extra pounds and a hangover that lasted 2 days so I'd say you got a decent deal.

Yeah, with those racks, I think you did just fine for $400. Looks like she will clean up pretty good also.

For the price. Nice find.
I am sure it will fire up nice after a carb clean and fresh fuel. How much rust in the tank?

...or appear on an episode of the Jerry Springer show. The 250SX is one of all time my favorite trikes. Still hoping to find one for myself. Wicked good deal, G!

Ha ha...yes, it's a rainforest up here. We get way too much precipitation! I often dream of the warmer/drier climates you guys get down there.

The top 3/4 is clean shiny metal, but the bottom 1/4 has a layer of rust :(

Geeze. Missed the part that you are from Canada... Honestly I was doing a conversion. $400 bucks about $550ish Canadian funds for a SX.
Great deal!!!!
