Yah or nah Racktank on 200es

Found this old thing in the loft of the barn. Been there for years. I think my grandfather was going to put it on a 80's suzuki kind quad back in the day when we had the quad (and him) with us. I brought it down and put it on my 200es that is a future project and what do you know it's almost the same size as the original rack! Only problem I think I'm gunna have is the trunk lid. I'm thinking that a spacer big enough that gives me enough room for me to reach in the trunk will be fine. My other thing is the weight. It weighs about 30-40 lbs and when the rack tank is full of gas that's probably about another 8 pounds. On a hard tail 3 wheeled solid rear axle machine I'm kinda worried about hills and such. Holy smokes man! That's a friggin huge fuel tank! How far was grandpa planning on riding his quad? To New Mexico and back? Cool idea, but seems like a lot of unecessary weight on the rear.

A gallon weighs a bit over 8 pounds, and that tank looks to be at least 10 gallons. A lot of weight, but convenient if you only care to fuel up biannually.

If it were for fuel that would be one big adventure.

But with the quick connect I'm guessing it might have been used as a sprayer. Powered sprayer perhaps.

Seriously though - as mentioned above by others - too much extra weight. I would pass on it - JMHO.

It looks huge but it is very thick steel probably 5 gallons
