Dyno tuned my 350x

Haven't been here in a while but I thought you guys may appreciate it more than anyone else. It made 29.81 hp to the wheels and 21.91 ft lb of tq.

If someone can tell me how to do it I will post video and a pic of the dyno sheet.

Nice, did you try different timing settings also?

The only way I know how to post a video is to download it to youtube then post the youtube link.

If you have a jpeg link to the photo, one way to post it is to put in front of the link and after it with no space inbetween.

Some other computer whiz will likely be more helpful and should come along soon to help.

This trike was of serious topic of discussion nearly 2 years ago to the day. And yes it has taken me until now to get it completely dialed in. I never gave up but there were times when I took a vacation from it!! ;)

This is the post on my .080 bore 350x. I'll be testing a new CDI with advanced timing and a 1000 more rpms.



Pretty good day on the dyno.

First off the stock 350x makes 22 rwhp. The Bryan Ditch 350x class racer came in at just over 38rwhp, I am very happy with that but it would only turn up to 8500rpm because of the rev retard in the stock CDI. We advanced the timing 5* but that did something I never seen, it knocked it down to 7500rpm, made the same HP up to that as it did stock, just kicked the retard in early, so that didn't work. lol

I just want to weigh in here to say I've done thousands of dyno runs and you can make the dyno say whatever you want it to say so don't take it as a finite way to measure power or compare output unless you run the bikes back to back on the same dyno.

. Its a tuning tool, a baseline indicator and intended to indicate gains or losses on a single bike at any given rpm not a basis for boasting.

That's what I do, same day, same dyno. Just like I did with my Big Red and 200x. I was with in .5 hp on rear wheel HP on the 200x from Powrolls dyno 30 some years earlier, so you can be very close if you have a good dyno tuner.

Never done that, why would I? This is for my R&D work. The 502cc kit will be done on the same dyno. Besides that I have someone else dyno it so the numbers are what they are, no need to lie about them.

Not sure what you guys are talking about or who you are receding to. But I have no reason to make it up. And super cycles has no reason to inflate the numbers. I told the owner when he asked me what I was hoping to gain by putting it on the dyno. I told him I don't care what hp it makes I just want it running at it's peak for the parts. That are on it.

He was a very nice person he took his time and I was well pleased with the results all the way around. Just thought I would share the results. If you think I'm a liar or the results were inflated or I printed my own sheet that's up to you, but I have no reason to inflate or lie.

It runs the best it ever has I would highly recommend Super Cycles!

Big Daddy, I hope you didn't take my comment as an insult toward you as that was not remotely my intent. I think that dyno tuning as at minimum very interesting and am glad you posted up. I wish there was a dyno local to my area as I have alot of curiosity about a couple of my trikes, not for bragging purposes but like you, I just want to see what it is capable of. Second I have been on this forum for several years there have always been a few people (not the same ones) with negative comments putting others down. People come here for help, to help, or just to post about their 3 wheelers. I wonder how many people have been ran off throughout the years because of the actions of a few. My comment wasn't directed at you Big Daddy.

If a "good tuner" is really a "good tuner", embellishment is not necessary. The machine will put out it's optimum HP with the proper AFR. Not everybody is out to bullsh!t customers. Sounds like your guy did a stand up job.

I'd actually like to see more dyno results from 3 wheelers.

I haven't had time to go thru your build thread, but I plan on it time permitting.

Super Cycles here in Joplin. He os very good at tuning. He helped do the tuning on a kx500 that set a speed record.

Thanks, I just wanted to know what you had done to get that HP. I went back and found what you did. I have a customer that has just about the same as you have done, now I can give him a idea what he has now and what he can have if he builds it like I did Bryan Ditches.

Specht my good friend, this thread was junk from the word go. There was some sort of misunderstanding about there being a problem of some sorts and then it spiraled from there. That was long before I got involved.

The problem here is not me and it's not necessarily just Mickey either. It's almost an entire community, many people of whom I know personally such as yourself, that sit there and let this guy try to talk down to us all and then attack me personally because he has no recourse and gets desperate. All the while everyone sits here and allows him to do it.

I will not allow it as long as I'm a member of this forum. Our society is as messed up as it is because the kind of behavior this man exhibits wasn't tolerated in the past but it is now. Not only that but it's actually perpetuated.

Specht even though we only see each other once a year I can tell you're a true friend, it's obvious. The way you helped me out with my 480 will be reciprocated someday. For someone I consider to be such a friend, it hurt me bad the last time I posted and it bent you out of shape. I was extremely disappointed to have bothered you, and I am this time as well. So to you I apologize. However knowing me as you do and knowing the kind of person I am, how can you sit here and watch this man try to take jabs at me over and over without saying anything? The only reason you and this community allows this to happen over and over is because of this man's celebrity status and ability to make parts and serve the community.
