Just wondering if the clutch assembly for a '79 110 is the same or will fit on an 85. I picked up a decent little 110 yesterday, got it to fire up. Runs really good, but as the po said, i believe the clutch is gone. Her kids rode it without shifting the gears. It shifts, the indicator moves, i just have no "go". Doesnt move in any gear. Well i have a spare 79 110 motor with good clutch. Just curious if theyll swap out

You try adjusting it?

Yeah, ive tried it in like 100 ways. When i (counterclockwise)tighten the adjusting screw all the way, then back out a 1/4 turn it doesnt allow it to shift. So i just kept trying it a buch of different ways, and all were same. No Go

Hmm... I would pull the cover off and see what's going on in there. There is a little clover shaped piece (best way I can describe it hahah) in there if you try and adjust it too far it can fall out of place and not let the clutch disengage. That may be your issue.

I've used parts off of early models no problem, and aftermarket fibers

I switched the clutch from the 79 to the 85. Exactly the same. Got it running like a champ

Good deal. I've never seen the friction discs on any horizontal Honda motor be so roached that it wouldn't even move haha

The previous owners kids were riding it for god knows how long with minimal oil, and without switching gears!! I think between the switching of the clutch, and proper clutch adjustment is what got me rolling. Maybe even more so the adjustment than the clutch itself... but this lady knew absolutely nothing about it, she said it was running and riding for a while then got a little worse until finally it wasnt moving. And they parked it. Thinking it was toast.
