82 200e question

I am installing the left side of the trike. I have the cam chain installed and ready to install the rest. I look at my shop manual and it shows a washer before the needle bearing. When I look at Service Honda pics it does not show a washer to be installed before the needle bearing???
I suspect it does need a washer as I think the large gear (forgot what you call it) that goes over the needle bearing will rub. Unfortunately it does not say what size washer or if a thrust washer or a regular washer. Any of you guys know the answer to this??:wondering

Maybe this isn't a great time to ask questions with folks probably out riding.
