I bought a ytm200 trimoto in october (diddnt run)
I tinkered with the carbs, found the starter plunger was seriously stuck. fixed that and it runs!
yeah! I rode it all over the place, but it doesnt have much power.
Finally I changed the oil and tuned it best I could......in the oil drain screen were all these pieces of metal! looked like little rings!
I cleaned out the oil filter and more metal. now Im thinking there is a Major problem. Until I went to fill it with new oil I noticed a 12" "spring" was jammed in there! I pulled it out and sure enough thats where the little rings came from. It had one side of the spring worn down by contact with something in the engine (thats where the filings came from).

I looked in the book at engine schematics and there doesnt seem to have any part like that in there.
So did some jacka$$ stick it in there? what kind of damage could this do?
is this why she doesnt want to give much power at 1/2 to full throttle?
and what should I do (summer project)....new piston rings?
