I have some spec's on it.
Power Plant: Twin Cylinder 656cc Briggs & Stratton
Transmission: Auto with Hi/Lo & Reverse
Brakes: Rear Hydraulic Disc Brakes
Front: Drum Brakes
Suspension: Front 7.5"
Rear 3.5"

You will have to wait for the Taurus page Update for the rest of what I have. hehe ;)

Here it is compared to a 200e or 200es Big Red. The Taurus is HUGE!!!

Well well well, I think that explains why it only has what....14..16 horsepower? BS engines suck for horsepower.

That is huge. I wonder what it looks like next to a 600cc grizzly quad.

Howdy, do you know anything about how many were made etc?

Anyway thanks for what you gave me!

later,

Matt

The Tuarus trike....

I was fortunate to pick one up 6 years ago from a farmer. They had an ad that read, heavy duty trike for sale. I went out thinking that it would be a Honda or a Yamaha. To my suprise I found this massive off round beast. $400 dollars later and hoping that I could get it to run(it had been sitting for 5 years).
I took it home, changed all the fluids, new plugs and battery and fired the machine up.
I have logged probably 500kms on the cutlines in northern alberta on it.
The four stroke 656cc motor provides massive torque and modest speed with the high/low transmission. Hydraulic rear brakes provide good stopping power.
Cargo capacity is unreal. I packed a large bull moose out in TWO trips with it from 5k back in the bush--try doing that with a Honda.

The machine is very heavy-I had the misfortune of sinking it in a mudhole a couple of times and it is work to get it out-saying that it powers through most obstacles

I will have to take some pics to post.

Intersting with the Taurus trike is that it is made by the same company that makes the 6 and 8 whell argos. ODG--ontario drive and gear LTD.

In fact when I was trying to replace the seals on the hydraulic brakes, I ended up getting reffered to an argo dealer and found that the caliper on the old taurus is the same as they still use on the argos for their skid steering.

I posted a picture of this trike a while ago that I scanned from the tri-ad. If you want to find it just type in ARGO. Looks like a pretty massive trike.

Taurus, get a pic of that thing, I really would like to see it.

Heres one off the front page. Those are 25X12-9 tires, that trike makes them look tiny. I think it would do great with 30" mudlites!
