Do you guys think i should go with a stock piston or a wiseco, or any others? im gonna rebuild the engine and i want everything top notch and for it to last. any other advice on rebuilding an engine is welcome to

Excellent Quality IMO. Wiseco offers 3 or 4 different compression ratios that you can purchase vs. 1 compression ratio with a stock piston.

Wiseco is great, never had an issue with them. I prefer OEM when available personally.

Cast or Forged pistons; Sounds like you are going to run hard but not running the Snot out of your machine? Cast or OEM pistons would probably run just fine. If you want higher compression; you need to go to a forged piston the only ones offering them. Wiesco & Wossner are equally superior to cast pistons. There are many other brands of forged pistons which are lesser known; JE comes to mind.
We’ve tested the 2 kinds of pistons & have found that forged pistons are more than twice as strong as cast pistons. If you want bullet proof strength; use a forged piston, any brand. See page 4, "How it's Done"

this is a 1984 125m, was leaning toward the wiseco for a little more power out of her

False, with proper care and feeding a wiseco will last just as long as OEM.

^ what he said. I was not aware wiseco made a piston for the 125M.
yup, just checked their site. no Wiseco for that motor. those were not sold for any sport for performance they were a trail/ranch puter with limited work capabilities back in the day.
if you need to bore/hone the cylinder I recommend ebay for a piston and take what ever available. but get the piston FIRST before you have machine work done.

here. best bet for you. it is larger than stock, so you can get your cylinder bored to match it. it also has a higher dome than your stocker so I would venture to saw more performance too. while your in it, you may consider replacing the front sprocket seals and sprocket itself. they wear and leak oil and the sprocket teeth wear causing chain slipping.

Thank you; there are always statements & opinions bouncing around the net with no reason or evidence to be true. If a statement is repeated enough people tend to believe it. It’s always refreshing to see more proof & understanding.
