I've got a bent 86 200s frame and a 84 frame that somebody cut off the plates where the rear axle bolts onto. Is it worth cutting the plates off the bent frame and having them welded to the 84 frame? Or just throw them both away? Jim

Please post pics of the 84 frame. It may have been modified to accept rear suspension...

Ill get pics later, but it looks like just the plates were ground off. Im going to cut the plates off the bent frame. And maybe just throw the spare frame in the side yard. Jim

Went back out and looked again. The rear mounting plates are just cut off vertically. Nothing else was done. I just grabbed the sawzall and cut the plates off the bent frame. Jim

Reinforce/gusset the plates. Butt welds alone will be sketchy!

Decided to keep the frame as a test stand. I've got a couple 185-200s mystery motors that were picked up in package deals. So I figure why not bolt them in the frame and see if they will run. Jim

I build a few 200 series engines every year. Sometime last year cut the cradle from a 200e that was rusted beyond repair and that is now my engine stand. Works great!
