A guy called (had a wanted ad out) he has a Atc 110 for sale $150 needs carb over-haul (so he says) He has the carb kit included. How do I know if its the carb or the engine is toast :?: Says it will not start.
Also needs seat re-done $60 :?:

do a compression test on it if its got good compression and good spark it would be worth it.

How? Meaning when I try to start it and it pulls REAL easy, low compression?
What about the gas tank, can you get plastic ones some where? If so, where?

i was talking maybe more along the line sof brining a compression tester with you and testing it. or yeah i guess you can tell if it has soem what good resistance in pulling it over it should have ok compression.

My concern is if its needs to be rebuilt. Easy/hard? What about parts?

Engine rebuilds aren't too hard as long as you have a good tool selection. You would be needing rings ($25), gaskets ($15), misc. bolts ($5) manual ($25), and anything that may need to be replaced (bearings, valves, ect.). If you are going to fix up the trike to make it really nice then it would cost more but to get it running it should be about $100 unless you run into big problems. When you get it start by cleaning the carb. and putting a little gas in the cylinder to see if it will fire. Seat covers cost about $25 or you can make your own and a new plastic tank is about $100 or you should be able to fine a good used one for about $50. Good luck!
