Did this for RUNMEDOWN's first gen 200X swingarm. Delrin bushed. Ready to ship Monday.
Stock one was damaged. Cast Aluminum with a hardened steel bushing ( that is half shattered).
I made the webbing and the area around the bolt holes a tad thicker JIC.
Fun project.

Wow, very nice. I have a 200X Westcoast swingarm. It has the cast original but I'm always looking to upgrade. Are you selling these? How much?

Wow very impressive, I'm in need of one as well .
Very Nice Doug great work as always. These are a problem with the Westcoast 200x swingers. I've pass on a few because the mount was either missing or beat to death.

I didn't think there was much demand for these so I only made one for him and one for me. Pretty swamped for the next few months but I will try to get a few punched out later this summer for sale.

Unbelievably childish. It was a simple compliment. Don't ruin another thread with this crap. I don't have any idea why Doug lashed out at me but I'm not concerned either. You all should get some perspective.

WTH?? Where did someone lash out at you? There's nothing but positive comments in this thread save for glamys typical gibberish.
ETA: N/M I figured it out. glamys draggin up old mud. But seriously, you don't understand why that happened? Always the victim aren't ya? Whatevs....
As far as the quote above? So much for :
Things are getting out of hand. Even I cant stand this much childish bickering. Thats saying a lot. This is a 3 wheeler site not a therapy group or a teen chat room. I think some valuable members including myself that have been involved in this ridiculousness need to re-evaluate and rise above it. I am nothing if not willing to better myself.
Just so you know, ALL MEMBERS here are valuable, not just the ones who tell themselves they are.
Talk about needing perspective

This is the shock linkage for a 200x Westcoast swingarm. For some reason Westcoast built a Bad Asse heavy duty steel swingarm and then used a cast aluminum/potmetal linkage that would darn near wear out just from the weight of the bike sitting on it. It was junk, and originals are usually in really bad shape, or guys have no idea it's specific to the Westcoast arm, so it's gets tossed in the garbage.

Wow, that looks soo much better than my "JB-Weld/Duct Tape/PVC pipe/Paper Mache" version (Dont worry; it had chicken wire as rebar so it was strong-ish)

I'm sick of your post baiting and trolling. I'd imagine others are as well. Move on with your life.

post baiting and trolling blah blah blah. stfu up dude. You say that shlt every time someone exposes your stupid little troll posts, and related feigned innocence.
]
But yet here you are unable to follow your own advice about moving on? While trolling and post baiting?
You post crap like this:
What a shlt show.
Exactly how many days does it take you to clean a carb?
Taking it apart already, oh boy!
Yeah I don't mind a little engine work. I learned everything I know on the internet!!
Starting to wish someone else found it. Got a bad feeling another very nice survivor will be lost. Hope I'm wrong.
R.I.P. another clean 85 200x made it 30 yrs then showed up here. Could have cleaned and polished and made a grand on it.
Yet you want to play the post bait/troll card? Get over yourself, you're not that special. This might come as a shock to you, but arrogance isn't a positive attribute. I'm not the only one that's called you out on your BS posts.
Quit acting like a Richard Cranium and you won't get called out on it.
Now why don't YOU follow your own advice and move on with YOUR life instead of playing "Do as I say, not as I do".
Run along now, you're late for your swimming lesson;

Ironchop,
With the way group orders go and how difficult it is to get paid, how would you like to proceed to see if it is viable for you to even take this on?
Start a thread dedicated to a group order set dates when you can run them and then start collecting payments in advance?
I have a W/C on my 200x, soon to be replaced with a calfab and my buddy has one he is building for his 200x. Depending upon price I would pay for 2 in advance.

Ironchop look how bad the OEM shock mount looks in my attached pics.
Not sure you can live with all these 200x's running around with substandard parts, these trikes are begging you for 23rd or 24 century technology..... :TrikesOwn

WHOA FUKKURS!
Let's slow down and think this thru.
I used some leftover material to make that one so I'll need to buy a bar of billet. I have no clue what that will cost me until I quote it with my sources maņana.
I still need to figure out how fast I can do these before I priced them. I did Jeff's for free because I got a WC buried in the parts pile that was missing the block and I had no clue what the specs were. Enter RUNMEDOWN (Jeff) and his was cracked and then rewelded and he wasn't sure about using it. I offered to make him one for free to use his old block to dimension so I could generate a program. Win Win for us both.
The cast originals were kind of thin so I added .080 to the OD of the shock mount hole (which means I added .040 or 1mm of material to the wall thickness). I can't go too far or I'm afraid it would rub the selector knob thats right above it. I didn't add any material to the swingarm bolt holes because I wasnt sure the clearance those ends need. The original had tapered ends.
Since I only had Jeff's block and not the whole swingarm, I need to wait until he mounts it to see if everything fits right. I copied the original as close to dead nuts I could considering its a imperfect cast. I also made the webbing between the holes another 1mm thicker than the original to also add strength. I could have beefed it even more but I wanted it to weigh as little as the original as I could.
The original had a hardened steel 2pc flanged bushing pressed into each side of the shock bolt hole. Jeff's is shattered in five pieces and stuck in there good so I left it and designed new Delrin 2pc bushings to press in there.
I don't want to take deposits or money yet. I'd rather have the product in hand before I go collecting money. Ill need a few weeks to get this sorted and I'm also trying to get three guys trikes running good for them to make Trikefest so all my spare time is booked for a bit.
I'll quote the job properly and see how quick I can work it in and then come back with definitive answers and price. Then we can make a new thread and have people sign up at that time to give me an idea of how many to make. Right now I'm guessing ten to start.
Thanks for the interest. I'd never seen as many WCs for the 200X as for all the other models so I assumed they weren't as popular. I guess a lot more people would run them if not for the jank-ass blocks? Is this the consensus?

You are correct ironchop. The 200x westcoast swingers are out there but most, like mine, are unusable due to the worn out block.
I'm glad you are willing to take the initiative to reproduce this part and please keep us posted for any updates. I definitely want one when your able to get to them!

No problem Doug. I am just having fun with the topic and understand way more goes into this process than just asking to have it done. I am no hurry and I think we all are in the same boat. It is good with me either way and on your timeline.
I would be happy to send you my Westcoast as well to mock up.
Thanks!!

Primary drive from Rocky Mountain ATV, best deal I have found for the cost.

WOA.....MUV-FUKKAS !! ........unless $250 a clip ? Buahahahaha ! Chop marketing dept........where`s my cut ?
Hahaha. Damn $250 !?!?! a pc....yeah I had a couple complaints over how much my 250R inserts were at $75 shipped a pair which seemed odd to buy a $600 swingarm with junk or missing inserts and then be perturbed over and additional $75 for some pimp stainless units shipped Priority Mail.

I've had a couple of guys on Facebook wanting me to make them bushings for almost nothing, which if you factor in my time, I'm pretty much already there.

How much difference is there between a stock 84-85 200x link and the Westcoast link.Other than stock being steel with a rubber shock bushing and Westcoast being aluminum. I have an oldschool DG and the lower shock mount is like the 83 200x with no link.231228

The westcoast block is quite a bit wider than OEM 83-85 200X block. Not sure if the geometry of the bolt holes is also different or not
