does anyone know if a head of a 87/88 trx 350 quad is the same as a 85/86 head. the cams and head gasket are same part # ???

no it does not. different bolt pattern and alignment.

Boy that's sure interesting because they sure do use the same gasket pn's. Tell us more Oscar.

I was going to say 100% yes, they are the same. I was always told they were,and it was common assumption on the hotline they were. I would love to know more Osacar,I was gonna type yes to this poor guy lol. As far as I know they are the same from the base gasket up.

The cams are slightly different from year to year. Other than that they are the same. The bare head pn's change for all kinds of reasons including paint color. Bolt er on buddy, i'll gladly take the heat if i'm wrong.

Not positive about any of the above but I've heard horror stories about motor rotation being reversed on certain models that are visibly identical. Not saying either is correct. I say go for it for experimental purposes. That's just me.

Its not experimental. When i asked for clarification i was being facetious. the head will 100% undoubtedly no question about it work on a 350x. That is all.

Thanks Guys, seems theres lots of quad head on ebay and none for the trike. so ill get a quad one and get this thing ready for spring. im going to use the quad cam too!.. gota be better than the worn out one the kids been ripping on all winter. thanks again.

I was helping someone whom ordered a head online and was trying to install it on a 350x. the oil holes were half way off or covered up. that was what we ran into.
