does anyone know how many links a chain for a atc chain must have?

I'm assuming from your name you want to know about the atc70? If so that would be 72 links of 420 chain.

Not trying to be a jerk, but wouldnt it be easier to just count them than to poll a message board?

Counting them does suck. What you need to do is call Denis Kirk and get a free catalog from them so you can have all this info too.
