Why is the sprocket mounted on rubber dampers from 83 to 85 ATC200X??

Is it the swingarm bolt, that the knucklehead can't line up marks right solution??

Why do 2 stroke pipes have springs? And a thumper has a solid mounted exhaust?

My thumpers vibrate?

AND, I CHALLENGE THE WORLD!!!!

What on Earth is the tab with the hole drilled in it welded on the 86 200X and 350X swingarm ( maybe the other years as well...), left side, maybe 6"s from the axle?

Nothing mounts there, I've never read anything??......

How exactly is a rainbow made? How exactly does the sun set? How exactly does the posi-traction rear end on a Plymouth work? It just does!

It comes down to play bike or trike and high performance bike or trike.

The rubber dampers cut down on vibration and also wear on the transmission.

2 strokes use springs to cut down on vibration, spider cracks in the pipe or breakage. High performance 4 strokes use springs as well.

On a side note it is much easier & cheaper to remove springs with a spring puller then buying a mill to remove your broken studs.

I heard long ago the tab was use in Europe to mount a chain cover, I don't know if this was stock or a Hondaline option, OR if it is even true. (It used that tab, the 2 front buffer bolts 2 of the bottom skid plate bolts) Chain covers are fairly popular in Europe.

Way to take the fun right out of this with facts n stuff.

Ouch, keep in mind many a play trike has been turned into a high performance trike.

Oldschool idea decendent from motorcycles that the rear drive sprocket being "cushioned" saves wear on the drive train

No not a good solution, hence why the redesign. (and if I misunderstood I don't think the rubber dampeners have anything to do with it)

You're thumpers are still counterbalanced and most 2 strokes are not. Many newer thumper aftermarket pipes are attached with spring because vibration breaks them. The two brothers I have on my 450 is an example, solid mounted first design, went to springs in a recall cause the head pipe was cracking and breaking off at the cylinder mount.

This is to help steering in deep water crossings, it keeps the bike going straight like a sharks fin.

That'll be four nickles please.

Why do we park on a driveway and drive on a parkway?

Lots of bikes have cushioned drive sprockets, as of1 said, to protect the trans from having to withstand constant impacts. All of the atc200 and 200s series have cush drive sprockets. Many enduros and street bikes utilize cushioned drive in several different configurations.

As a side note, I just modified a cl175 sprocket to convert this to a solid mount sprocket.

It was just something they tried. Who eles tried it? Sure it was cool, Sure it worked but so does todays non crush drive.

It wasn't just "something they tried" it was and still is widely used in the powersports industry.

It is incredible the way people die in alphabetical order. Have a look at the funeral announcements in the newspaper.

You have two options for that. Either mount a very short whip flag or a teeny tiny ball hitch.

I didn't want to be the first person to ask what that was. Glad I'm not the only one without a clue.

I've thought about that also only conclusion I could come to in my head is it was maybe used in the factory to hang either to paint or just move then around on a assembly line
