I've been away for a bit but thought it was time to swing back by and give an update and check in.
So about a month ago my nephew and a friend were out riding and managed to wreck it. Last time that'll happen....anyway.
He bent the heck out of my forks. Luckily, I had a set of decent forks on my parts bike. So finally, I replaced the forks, wile I was at it...new brake shoes, brake cables, seals and bearings.
Plus, I finally was able to get rid of my ugly plastic tank. Found a decent tank on eBay for $65. Add a NOS cap.

A year ago my 16YO nephew called me out of the blue.
Seems he'd gotten himself a girlfriend, basically living at her house..she lived rural with a big patch of farmland and standing treelot.
So his question..hey uncle Doug, can I borrow your Big Red for the summer and keep it at my GFs?????
My response: Bahahaha...click!!!

So what's the story behind how he wrecked it?

They "hit a hole" according to them. I think him and his buddy, riding together tried to jump something but I can't prove it. The didn't get hurt.
I was saving the parts bike to build a soft tail with the TRX200 I have but I finally striped it down for parts to just the frame. I may still do that though. It was a running big red at one point but now I need some 200m forks. ...1 at a time lol.

Taking a 200e/es front suspension out of circulation is not necessarily a bad thing.

True! I just need to find a good 200m to add to the collection.
Needless to say, lesson learned. No one rides my big red but me from this point forward.

those forks were bent some kind of bad. It kind of reminds me of when my little brother hit the side of a building and bent the frame on his 70.

All cleaned up. Still need to clean up some of the wiring but she's ready to ride again!
