Not sure how much more the Es should be, but i paid less than $30 for an uncut nice 200x harness. IMO its pretty expensive, but again, i dont have experience w your model. I would probably wait for a better deal

I just did a quick search and found 67 matches. The one u mentioned was almost the most expensive. Most were in the $40-$60 range

Besides the look of the harnesses, you'd also want to check if there is dry-rot, cracking, missing ends, etc. Old harnesses can get brittle and they don't last very long. I have bought around 10 harnesses off ebay purely for templates, and at least half of them I'd never install on a machine due to the brittleness of the wires. However, I was also buying the cheapest ones listed at the time ($20-35 shipped) and most of them had missing terminals. I'd say contact the sellers of the cheaper harnesses and ask how flexible the wire is and hope they are honest.

New reproduced harnesses are possible for the 86-87 250es (4+2 pin cdi connector), and the 85 model is possible with a donor harness for the 6 pin cdi connector. Sadly the new harness would be fairly expensive for that model though, atleast with the technique I use to make them. The 85 vs 86-87 harness should be interchangeable as long as you used the correct cdi for the harness.


The 250es and 200es are completely different harnesses, some aspects are similar, but I'm pretty positive the lengths won't match up close enough. The 250sx harness on the other hand would be a closer match since they both use basically the same engine. With some wire splicing a ~85 trx250 might be close too. Best bet would be to get a 250es harness though.
