Picked up an x for a pretty sweet price recently. When I stretch her legs it dies out. But runs pretty good in lower gears/Rpms (it does seem like it lacks responce) Cleaned the carb, new air filter etc. the tank has some rust inside so I ran an inline fuel filter (possible issue?) previous owner put a 400ex carb on (he didn't remember the year) but didn't do anything with the jets. After reading on here, I realize the 400ex carb sounds to be a solid upgrade but there's a million ideas for jetting. I live in md so altitude isn't a problem. PLEASE HELP!

Stock exhaust?? On mine at 5000' altitude stock 400ex jets seemed about spot on. If your pipe is not stock you may need to try bigger main jet.

Go on EBAY and get a range of pilot and main jets.
IDK the seller but I can find him 33$ shipped for 10 jets last time I bought them......

Jetsrus.com is what I use.
I don't know much about 350x engines, but is the timing adjustable? If the jetting doesn't help that may be something to look at.

^ They come in a clear box with cut outs in the foam. For 110, the box is probably 110,112,115,118,120,122,125,128,130,132.
So you can get it spot on. I've got about 10 sets of 10 and another random set of 150 jets. I've done lots of jetting
