This don't need a banshee motor it's still original. Im gonna find one with a broken frame and put a shee motor in it. It would go for 3k in ohio but all trikes are more expensive in ohio.

That trike is gorgeous! Sorry to hear you're selling it, I can't imagine the circumstances that would make me part with such a gem and if I did there 's no way it would be for less than $5K USD. Not saying the market would bare it, but I see no way to bring a used one back to the condition yours is in for less.
Two questions:
Is the red heat shield original? I can't find an image of one on Google.
The routing on the rear brake like is a mystery I'd like solved. Your "original" routes to the left of the bleeder screw. I also saw a photo of one that came out of a crate that was routed the same way, as did mine.. However the Yamaha manual shows it routed to the right of the bleeder. There is a stop for the banjo bolt that indicates it should be in the right side as well, yet two originals have it to the left.
I'm wondering if the brake lines were put on when the bikes were delivered to the dealers and the mechanics just bolted them on as they wished, or if there was change made by Yamaha after the manual was written as the left side mount offers more protection to the line.
Sadly if it was a 250R with this anomaly there would be 30 threads dedicated to the topic and if it was a 250R you had in the same condition it would be worth a lot more money.
Good luck with the sale, I hope you find someone that can appreciate that trike and keep it in the same condition as you have.

It's really clean, but stock. I'd give you a solid 2000 for it.

Since your in the land down under, you can ask whatever you want since it would be hard to find another one like it. I'd ask for at least two 1 oz Australian gold Kangaroo coins, and mabey even a few Kookaburras! ;)

That's the point. After 31 years of people NOT butchering things up values start to increase. You may think adding a 10" swing-arm and a pod filter adds value to a trike, but others don't.
I'd give you a solid 2000 for it.
My global currency nomenclature is a little rusty, remind me please which country is it that uses solids?:wondering

US values on trikes have little bearing on their value in oz . My guess is that it would bring at least $3500.00 in the US to a Tri Z collector and possibly over $4000.00, however, the problem is that there are around ten zillion Honda collectors to every one Tri Z collector, so although you have one of the nicest Tri Z's in existence, if not the nicest one, you still need to find someone that wants it . The other problem you have is that your bike should never, ever, be ridden again because it devalues it, so how many people want to pay big dollars for a dirt bike they can't ride.
There are a couple 3 wheeler sites in oz so your best bet might be to check with them and also contact some 3 Wheeler dealers or shops and see what they say because they know a lot of people, and some of them might be interested in selling it if you give them $500.00 or something.

If I recall correctly, a water cooled ATC250R in nearly identical condition sold for around $8,000.00 usd in the US around 1 1/2 years ago, but unfortunately that has no bearing on yours.

That is one beautiful Tri-Z. It looks like there might have been some work on it ( Heat shields were black as OEM I believe ) and there appears to be new gaskets peeking out on the reed cage - ( as well as non- oem tires ) So I wonder how much has been touched up to bring if back to this condition. In any account... it's mighty nice and would easily sell for $2500 - $3000 here in Michigan.

Oh no I know very well that it devalues it. I don't want to buy someone else's modified hack job either.
