I was wondering how much oil goes into the front shock and where does it go into? Also what kind of oil needs to go in there? Just one more thing my R needs to be running real good. I will have some pics of it up when I am done. Hopefully by the end of the week. Thanks
UPDATE---- Also what does that shrader valve on the top of each fork do? are you supposed to put air in there or what? I am trying to figure that out and hoping you guys could steer me in the right direction. Thanks

you need suspension fluid. Honda has it, it is in a clearish bottle, and is made by Showa, just ask, and they will find it for you. Depending on your weight, the thickness can vary. I think 5wt is stock. that is what they said. This is good for up to a 160-175lb rider. Anything above that i'd get 10 wt.

86 250r takes 465cc's or 15.5 oz's per side ... there are several brands of fork oil, and several different weights too. if you fine your forks to be a little soft or spongey you might want to go with a little heavier weight oil ,,, i run 10 wt , in all my trikes ... seems to be just right too,,
you have to take the fork caps off to put the oil in them,,,

I use Belray fork oil.
Used to use 10wt then 7wt. Now I use the 5wt because I think it results in a faster responding fork.
I ride alot on high speed washboards so I like my suspension to be responsive. Me thinks it helps with the controls, jmo.

dont listen to him hondaman...hes an idiot. 82 185s didnt even come with shocks and there is no way that POS had a conversion kit put on them. He just likes to say silly things whenever i post a question. Put i will give props to the 185 for being a hillclimbin machine, perhaps rivaling a certian 300 Lakota.

Good idea. I have a nice rope we can tie him up with. What time is good for you? I am open all weekend if you want to do it then. Maybe we could have a tug-of-war with him in between the two R's? Let me know

Anytime is good for me. Lets use a log chain tho, that'll be way cooler. Lets do it on asphalt. Your gonna have to give me a few mins tho cause i gotta take off my Trekkers and stick on my holeshots.
