Ok so just bought the most haggard looking 86 200x I have ever seen. The axle on it is bent but the guy I got it from gave me an axle that he said he got with it, but didn't know what it was from. I know the 84 250r axles swap on and I'm thinking this might be one as they look similar in the few pictures I found. Does anyone recognize what this is off of or have a 84 250r axle laying around to compare? Thanks

1st gen....if the axle is bend ad you want to save it send shortline10 a message and he will straighten it. I was going to do this but decided to modify my stock swinger to put a 300ex axle in.

Not stealing business from shortline here, but a good machine shop should be able to straigten the axle.

Thanks for the advice on getting it fixed. Oldskool is there is thread showing how to modify the swinger to put the 300ex axle in? Also will the axle loose some of its strength after being fixed?

Axle strength won't be effected much if 1st all as you don't need to heat it to repair. Need a good shop press and measuring tools.

300ex axle swap depends how much you want to spend, or if you find a blown up parts bike you can rob the rear end.
You will need the following:

After axle is in the bike will be .75" wider on the right side.
You will need to run a 300ex axle wheel hub on the left side of axle and a 200x axle wheel hub on right side.
I will be using a Tusk 300ex axle 2+2 axle.
Buy only OEM honfa bearings...you can use cheaper seals but the cheaper beatings are dogshit
To make it function properly with aligned chain and caliper is where the work starts.
I choose the 300ex axle because they are plentiful, cheaper and uses the narrowest bearing carrier of all the 4 wheelers in the TRX line up. I am keeping stock swing arm for now. You can run 300ex rear rotor and hub or swap to trx450r which is a good bit smaller.
300ex bearings are in 200x axle.
300ex sprocket hub needz to be machined .250" to on the inside to align the sprockets.
200x swing arm need .625" added to the hub side with a spacer for the axle bearing and seal.
Next is the caliper. You can use your factory one but will need to shim it over about .25" to line up with the new rotor.
by doing this you solve the following issues:
Over priced ATC axles
Over prices and limited selection on rear sprockets (trx sport quad sprockets have been the same since 1986 and are still the same on 2016 models) All kind of sizes out there.
Smaller diameter rotors if you use trx450r and new replacements are made.
No need for skid plates now...stock wont work anyway now. TRX450R sprocket rotor guards will need to be used...More clearance.
Crap axle lock nuts now go in the trash and you use a Durablue Posi lock for a 300ex.
But if you do not have $100 to mod the bike then get the axle straightened. This is not a hard mod but if you do not have access to machine and welding and parts it could end up costing more then most pay for their bike lol.
I used a new tusk 2+2 axle because the 300ex I had that was parted had no good axle stuff on it other then hubs and a new bearing carrier which I robbed of its guts.

Thanks for the write up oldskool I will take all the information into consideration. The entire front end on the bike is bent and not the right forks even. Are there any complete front ends that will swap over, maybe even one that would be considered an upgrade?

83-84 250R forks....see attached
buy 250r triples. take out the steering stem. Machine or dermal the hole larger to put in the 200x stem...reassembly using all 200x stuff. Go ride. all 83-84 250r stuff is the same as 200x, wheel, axle, brake, brake line. I sell shock boots also.
