Any thoughts. Are these both direct bolt in. The 250 cc is suppose to be a crf 230 direct bolt on. Not sure which direction on my motor. My Honda engine looks like I need to get into the bottom end. Just wondering if a cheaper route would be one of these engines. Bonus being electric start. Also from what I've read, rear brake would have to be modified on the lifan 200, not sure about the zongshen 250. Also would prefer the power of the 250 over the 200. Any other modifications I should know about? Thanks for help.

The 250 does not really have more power than the 200cc. Especially if you find an OHC engine. But either one will get you a big fat smile. PM me if you're intetested in a complete one. Wiring, carb, everything.

I am interested in the 250 if it's a direct bolt in . Is it new? Got any pics?

Make sure if you get a ZS 250 (223cc in real life) you confirm the bore and stroke. The good ones have a 65.5mm bore and 66.2mm stroke which is the same combo as a Honda CRF230F. These engines are basically the same as a CRF230F as in roller cam, big valves etc but are a 5 speed instead of 6 speed like the Honda. To me this is not a big deal as you get electric start and kick start where the CRF is electric start only. The 250 version will eat up a 200 version just because of the extra stroke alone.

I have used several chinese engines in place of the 192cc hondas. By far the one that made the most power was the 171fml OHV 229cc pushrod zongshen/taotao. These can be found in used chinese quads fairly easily. 71mm bore 58mm stroke.

As soon as I can get my hands on a 167fmm (67mm bore x 65mm stroke) i'm going to try the 171fmm top end swap creating a 257cc engine. I see no reason at this point why it would not work.
