Getting ready to purchase the 1 1/8 Pro Taper contour atv high bars. Wondering if the universal oversize clamps the ones that replace the stock clamps give any problems mounting? There are two options the ones that mount in the stock clamps and ones to replace old ones. Has anyone run this setup? Any other options ?

I think Bryan used the pro taper bars, try doing a search. A few others have used them also...

The pro Taper adapter looks like it will work just wonder if the stud going through the top tree will be long enough

The studs are long enough but they could be a little longer, I put thinner washers on mine and I think the nylon lock on the lock nut has no threads in it. You could buy thinner locknuts or do like me and put some loctite.

225985I just put some on mine. I used the Protaper universal mount in place of the original mounts. You need to put a couple lock washers between them and the original rubber mount for it to still dampen correctly. The bolts that come with the mounts are a little short after doing this for the nylon lock in the nut to catch any threads. I just got some longer bolts and ground them to fit in the Protaper mounts. I ended up using a 1/2 spacer to get the height I wanted on the bars. They are ATV lows

I used some KTM 1-1/8" mounts I found on ebay and a set of cheap Tusk ATV bars. Seems to all fit well.

Thanks crjanow I see you went with the low bars and still wanted more height? would you recommend the atv high?

Possibly, I wouldn't want the sweep to be anymore for myself. The high bars would feel closer to stock. I originally had cr mid bend and tried the spacers and decided I wanted taller bars so I sent them back and got the atv lows which are basically cr highs with a wider mounting surface,
