I have a 1985 ATC 125M and frame with my 1984 Atc 110 forks and plastic. I am putting my 1979 Atc 110 motor with my H&S cylinder on the frame. It would be better with an aftermarket frame, but I don't have the money to spend on one of those right now, maybe one of these days. I plan on making a Dickson joker or Sprint frame at school in welding class one of these days. I'm not a big fan of the chain tensioners, I have a BAPP chain tensioner but I have it on another bike right now. These aftermarket parts are also going on this build, BAPP breather dipstick, sudco intake manifold, oversized carb. 225770225771
I have also been working on these cases for another bike I have, with a 123cc piston kit.225772225773
Sorry about the side ways pictures I can't get them to rotate.

Cases look good. I know that was a lot of work.
I have found that if you use pic's from your phone you have to rotate them on the phone before you down load them onto the site.

Yes thank you I'll keep that in mind, and the cases have a lot more to go a lot of wet sanding and polishing.

Dr. ATV has a lot of parts for the 110-125. The 85 ATC110 is still my favorite of all of mine. Just never quits. Great little trike.

Got my motor apart and it was a bent exhaust valve. I had a head that was ported and I decided to use it because the one that was on it had some issues. Had stock valves with aftermarket springs and retainers. While taking the head off the cylinder didn't crack loose while disassemble. So I didn't touch so I didn't disturb the rings. Everything came out great. It had a copper head gasket that was cut down. I did some looking and found one that was the same size. Only problem I have is that it leaks a little oil on the right side of the head gasket, it's not a bad leak more of a seeping leak lol. I will take it back apart sometime. I would like to do a hi lo range cut out mod or find a case that is already done and some other mods. Then I would take head off and do a big rebuild, when I get the money to do it. But I got it back together and the thing rips and runs really good. I will post more pics of the motor in trike later.226615226616226618

Lol I would but I would be 80 by the time it got done! And I was looking at my head that I swapped and I think I know why it's seeping oil, the one had 2 copper gaskets on it that were perfectly lined up with eachother, I only used the one I had didn't know that it had 2, all well ill have to take it back apart someday to do more things to it. Thanks for the input!

Got some wheel spacers for the rear, did some riding on my oval track last night and it performed really good. How does it look? Motor has been running great and the plug is showing very good signs that it's running how it's supposed to. Not running rich or to lean, just right. Been gathering parts for my next build, 1980 Atc 110 with 123cc big bore kit. Will be doing a hi/lo gear box elimination. Will be getting sl 90 counter shaft soon, and have a tranny, carb, and stage 1 cam on its way. Mods to my next build will have 123cc kit, stage 1 cam, sudco intake and oversized carb, hi/lo gear box elimination, BAPP crankcase breather, and plan on getting 4" rear wheel spacers. Will keep this thread posted on the next build. Thanks

Looks like your head spacing is too tight. It appears that your piston is smacking the head. A dab of play dough on the head will give you spacing amounts.

Good luck finding a 90-110 BAPP allen head set.

Here is a good set that is also stainless.

The bolt set will be used on the motor that has the polished cases. I'm still gathering parts for it. I will be using plastic fenders that are in really nice condition no cracks. I have a tank but it needs redone. So I will be using my tank off of my 77 90 for now. Pm sent to you Jwheeler.

Looks Good. All you need to do is just a little finishing on it and you'll be good to go. You can fill the holes with two part expoxy. I use a belt sander to smooth everything up.

Another thing you will need a different seal for the SL counter shaft. The one for the Hi/Lo will not work. I think the correct seal is the same one used in a CR250 IIRC.

I think this is the one you need.

I did some test fitting to see if the shaft and everything worked. It did, now I'm waiting on my counter shaft seal for the sl90 shaft. And then the bottom end will be ready to got together. Had some bearings for my crank and transmission shafts so I'm all good to go. My piston rings should be coming here sometime. Then I need to get new wrist pin clips then we're all good.

Joseph Farrow
02-25-2016, 09:46 PM
Shaft looks right. Just transfer all the gears from the standard 90/110 with hi/lo over to the sl shaft.
Pick up a clip from the local hardware store to hold the sprocket on and you'll be good to go.

1979atc
02-25-2016, 09:50 PM
Do you think I should get other sprockets? I have one and it's a 11 tooth. I have a clip set should have one that works, and swapped gears to sl shaft and everything worked out. I will be putting bottom end together when my shaft seal comes. Thanks for the help.

Joseph Farrow
02-26-2016, 10:13 AM
I am pretty sure you can install the seal from the out side if you want to go ahead and put your cases together.
Also the front sprocket all depends on your rear sprocket rear tire size and engine mods. A good middle of the road front is a 13-14 tooth. Smaller the front equals more low end bigger the front equals more top.

1979atc
02-26-2016, 01:02 PM
Ok thanks I will see if I have other sprockets somewhere. Today must be my lucky day, my seal and my rings came today, only thing I need is a shifter shaft seal. Turned out that one was bad and those are common to leak when worn. I will be ordering one of those. But I can still put the bottom end together, I need a head and I have a 90 motor that needs a lot of work, could I use the head off of it?? I plan on porting it anyway I just didn't know if they were the same as a 110 or not. Thanks

Today I did some more work, got case oil holes filled last night and did some sanding to smooth everything off. Got my seal put in my case half, and I have to get my doner 90 motor tore apart plan on using head and I have to get shifter shaft and keeper out. Other than that I got the crank put it and the transmission together. Donor is at my grandfathers, so I will get it about Tuesday when I go out there. Going together pretty well so far hopefully have it running in the next month or so. Still have to get chain, would like to find more flat track tires, have three bolt rims for them but I need to get those sand blasted and the old tires need takin off. Have a NOS wamulass front tire for the build also. Still need to get a carb and another sudco intake. And I have a Big Al's pipe and stinger to go on this build.

If I decide to paint it sometime I'm thinking about going with a old spray bombed blue my dad used on one of his race 90s he had back in the day, wish he never sold it. It had a Chrome Big Al's pipe like the one I'm using on this build, but only chrome. And had a 108cc kit with stage 2 cam and oversized carb. My father had his friend race it in the 200 class, wouldn't let him be in the 110 class, and he started dead last and finished 3rd. I may have to put a picture on here of the three wheeler, I saw it at my grandfather's not to long ago. Hopefully this build turns out good I love these 90/110s. Thanks

Yeah they are I think they look and handle great. I tore apart my doner motor and got my shifter shaft and keeper out. This motor is horrible I have it sitting vertically right now with brake fluid down the cylinder to loosen up the piston. The head was good shape, so I am able to use it just need to get the valves tore out of it, and port it. Lap the valves and clean up everything then ill be good to go. Bottom end is half way together right now, hopefully be together soon.

Daddio would be the one to ask about the 70 racing around Coshocton. I know a couple places that'll run whatever as long as there's five of them. I'd love to get a group of 90/110's together for some fun. I know Sunset Ramblers in Galion ran a trike class when enough people showed up. I also know a couple other places that would run them too

There are a few small tracks around here but most of the guys are either racing stock cars or dragracing during the summer. We do manage to get a few races in every year though. If you are on Facebook try this link. It's to the O.T.C., Ohio Trike Crew. They have the scoop on trike racing in Ohio.

Maybe I'll have to look into it, kinda a shame all the tracks around me disappeared. My dad is a close friend of the person who owns Fremont Speedway a sprint car track, pictures I posted of the racing is the track. They had that track in the infield, maybe I could do some talking someday and see if they would try to get something put together. Just have to find people to come and race!

I have ran into a problem, my 123cc piston I was told was a 123cc I am pretty sure it is a 118cc piston. My rings I got that were 123cc are to big and the top ring will not even fit in top piston slot. Does anyone have rings for 118cc kit for Atc 110. All I need is the rings not the whole kit. I see kits on ebay ,but no rings. Please let me know ASAP, I need rings! Thanks

Looks like a +5 90/108 piston. The 90 has a 14mm wrist pin, the 110 is 15mm. The piston on the leftt is a 110/123.

Here is what the build looks like so far, I had a BAPP 55 tooth rear sprocket and a BAPP chain tensioner I put on today. I just have the motor sitting in the frame until I can find a 123 piston for a good price, or just be able to find rings for a 118cc piston. That would save me from boring the cylinder also. My 3 bolt rims I will be getting sand blasted, and put flat tracks on the rear, instead of having these big knobby tires on the rear.

Looks like a PK piston that's been stroker cut to me :)

As Mike states the original designed piston had been modified to be used in a stroker crank motor. If used expect it to knock, make louder piston noise as the normal clearance is going to be larger due to shorter piston skirts. Easy enough to measure piston size, measure across bottom of piston skirt, add @ 0.004 for clearance and convert to millimeter.

Been wanting to share this with some of you for awhile, and today I could finally get a picture of it in the daylight. My father's old modified race bike, it all needs put back together. This is a fully suspended bike, This thing is very wide, wider than legal limit I was told. The motor that goes in this is a stroked 210cc 185s motor. Huge stage 2 cam, 32mm carb I believe went on it. Had a supertrapp full exhaust system and a lot of other goodies. He still has all the old parts that went on it. Packed in our several barns of parts, lol. We plan on restoring this bike someday, or get it all back togther and running again. Has been part for awhile now, ever since I can remember and I'm 17 now. Thanks!

My father told me it has been apart since about later 1980s, what is also really neat about this bike is he said he raced it in the SilverDome in the early 80s with Mickey Dunlap. Just if we got enough space, we could drag it out and start rebuilding it.

I need a little help. On my second 110 build I'm having a little trouble with the head gasket sealing. I used copper gasket sealer and is still not sealing correctly. I can't seem to figure out why it keeps leaking. When it's running its blowing oil out and bubbling out at the same time. I have never had this happen before and have built several motors with no problem. Anyone have suggestions how to get it to seal? Thanks

Yes, the rubber seal was in there and it was new. I always double check myself putting that seal in. Lol I used every gasket that came in the top end gaskit kit also.
