i picked up a yard trailer and put some car seats in it for pulling my kids behind my trike. i have a alt125 and a 185 (not as powerful as a big red) it pulls the trailer fine but i want to pull them around the flats in the sand dunes.
just wanna ask if the motor can handle this before i overheat one of these rare machines.

Not familiar with the Suzuki, but since they are rare, I would try to find something more suited for the job. Atc200 125m or even a 110 comes to mind due to the hi/lo gearing adjustment.

the 185 should be ok. if your worried, you can buy a 200cc top end and swap the top ends around. the 200S/ES/E/X top end (cylinder and piston) are all pretty much the same (200x has slightly higher compression) this would give you a 200cc engine instead of the 185.
other than that you should be fine.

It's a Suzuki Oscar. ALT would be fine, used to tow heaps with my old one. No problem!

Air down the tyres and keep the torque up in low gear. Just don't give it hell and you will be fine.

If you can put some atv style tires on the trailer to help with flotation in the sand that would help a lot with the rolling resistance. Post a pic of it in action.
