Im deff intrested in getting as much info as i can on what motors swap in the easiest, and how the 70 rides with a bigger motor.

I'm curious, how are the 2003 blasters? If I am good maybe santa will bring me one ;) . I think the 70 would be small but fast..the 125ms may be slow, but look at how much trike the motor has to haul.I am a big fan of fast, small bikes.

yep the 90's and 110's bolt right in they get up and go 4 wat they r but these arent standard motors either theve been bored to 128cc and the 90 bored to 120cc the we also know a fella that is a family friend who has a 70 with a 200x motor with the head lying dwn im pretty sure hes posted a pic of it trailprotrailpro those things fly he told us that hes beat raptors at the sand drags the only advantage the quads have are the paddles its hard for the little 70 tyres to hook up.but yeh if i was u and u came across a 90 or 110 engine i would 4sure put 1 of them in.

Do you have to use the 110s electrical? So the 125m motor does not fit? I will have to get a 70 first lol.

mart
01-25-2004, 02:50 AM
im pretty sure that the 125m's fit but im not deff sure im sure that some1 on here will know wink

Im gonna look for a 90 or 110 motor for the 70 sgould make for a neat little project, thanks for the info.

I noticed in some pics of 90 and 110 engines the head has a bracket that holds the motor to the frame but on your bike u dont have it,its not needed?

Also does the lil 70 vibrate bad with a bigger engine?

My 2003 blaster rips the mods i have done to it really woke the lil 2 stroke up.

i would highly try to run with the braket up front. If you are going fast, and turn hard, the frame will just twist out from you. I isn't very pretty when it happens, and it didn't feel good when i did it.

mart
01-25-2004, 06:32 PM
yeh i would recommend usin the front bracket i dunno y weve never put em on weve never had any probs with em and they get ridden pretty hard my uncles 1 has 1 on his.i would prob go for the 110 over the 90 though because it has the cdi instead of points but the 90's still fly either way you go you will love it wink

mart
01-25-2004, 06:33 PM
oh i forgot to answer your question on the vibration i didnt notice any diff from the 70's

Hey i got a 125m motor if someone wants it. I just pulled it out of the garage and broke the valve adjuster cover. Does anybody know where i can get one of these or how to pull out the broken part.

anyways i got two motors so maybe i will have to make one of those? does the 125 motor mount right up or what? I was thinking of putting the 125 motor in a kart? anybody interested

I did my conversion from a 1984 Honda ATC 125M not a bored out 90 or 110. It's complete with battery and starter.

the top motor mount hole bolts right up. You need to make new holes(about two inches lower thatn the stock holes) for the bottom mount, add a brace to beef up the frame at that point because it wasn't designed to be a mounting point. Install the upper bolt first, make hole and attach bottom bolt. Then you need to weld a bracket to the frame to support the head mount. After all that is done you will need to cut the intake manifold at the base, reindex and weld it up for the carb to fit otherwise the tank will not fit.

that little trike would be pretty fast :D

Im thinking about doing this with my little 70. I have dumped so much into trying to get this damn thing to run and i have a atc90 motor that runs great with no probs. What parts do you use from the 90 and what from the 70??? (i.e. chain, sprockets, carb????)

jdparsons1
01-27-2004, 03:19 PM
Oh yeah,,, can you still use the 70's exhaust???

jakey
01-27-2004, 03:54 PM
Geez, that's alot of work. Between baseball, school, and everything i might just make a 4 spd kart? It wouldn't be that bad- 35 miles an hour. four speed, hi lo gear, it wouldn't be all that bad! 8)

I've managed to get mine running great, now everything else is falling apart lol

I would just use a 90 or 110 so u dnt have to do all that work the 90's and 110's fit straight in without any mods and im sure there just as fast as the 125m motor.i dont think u can use the 70's exhaust because its not the same width and it would restrict the motor to much

jdparsons1
01-27-2004, 10:20 PM
i wonder what exhaust you use??? the exhaust on the 90 goes through the frame and wouldn't work on the 70.

I guess ud have to cut the stock exhuast and piece it toghter to make it custom :?:

Mines in a few peices right now fixing one of the many problems this atc has givin me

If you don't mind not having the electric start with the 125M motor, just install a 90 or 110. It is pretty cool having the electric starter in my 70. It's a little more work but well worth it.

For an exhaust I used an XR 50 exhaust from minigunz.com
It bolts right up sits close to the frame over the motor not under the footpegs. I shared a rear grab bar bolt to secure the mufler.

crnacnac

this is the XR50 exhaust I used. Notice how the carb fits so the air filter is mostly inside the frame. To do this I cut the intake manifold at the base where it bolts to the head. With the carb attached to the manifold and the base of the manifold bolted to the head I held the carb/manifold in place, tack welded it, removed the manifold from the head, finished welding it and cleaned up the inside of the manifold with a die grinder. The choke cable is still attached and works perfectly. The carb and manifold will fit fine without doing this modification but the gas tank won't fit.

Thats cool 8) . I guess you would have to use the 125m electrical huh?

I used ALL of the 125M electrical

jdparsons1

How does an XR50 exhaust work and the atc70 doesn't? I have a 110 head and a 70 head and was looking at them and it looked like the 70 exhuast would mount up. I haven't tried it yet but it looked like the same size port, or pretty damn close.

crnacnac
02-02-2004, 03:44 PM
the port is the same. The stock 70 exhaust runs under the foot pegs. The 125 motor is too big for the 70 exhaust to clear. The XR50 exhaust runs up over the motor with no clearance problems
