185 gurus feel free to chime in; never touched one before.

I got this frame along with 3 motors of questionable serviceability (2 are locked up) along with a pile of other parts recently. IF I can make one good motor from the three I'll tackle the rest of this. I want to make a big brother for my Fugly 90/110.

Here's what I have:

Working pull start
1981 complete triple tree if I can't straighten the 1982 forks
3 rims and tires
Airbox still in frame
Coil, tail light and wiring harness still on frame
Exhaust that looks like it will work
Rear axle with drum, hubs and drum cover that looks to be the right ones. The rear bearings feel good too. The sprocket looks bad. If this is a 185 axle sprocket combo?
Maier rear plastics in not too bad of shape
Handlebars and levers
I have a box of carbs that was in the parts lot; hopefully one of them will work?
Headlight
Questionable chain

Here's what I know I'll need:
CDI (I think I can borrow the one on my 1983 110 to try)
Gas tank
Complete seat
Hand brake cables x 2
Throttle assembly? (might be one in the parts)
Front and rear sprocket
Chain?
kill/light switch ( might have one?)

Sounds like someone's hard up for a winter project. A 185S was the first trike I ever drove, heck, that might even be the same one:lol:

Update. Motor #1 seemed like it has a locked transmission. Never did get it started; couldn't get the shifter to move at all. Motor #2 was locked but freed up with a little help. I noticed both motors had the exciter coil wires snipped off, weird. Scabbed together a carb and throttle and bolted them on. I'm still trying to get the exhaust apart but it's proving to be a beotch, even with Kroil. I can't seem to thread the exhaust in without diassembling them?

Well she fired right up and ran strong, smokey but strong. I may end up stealing the top end off motor #1 and put it on motor#2. We'll see. Ya I'm reaching for a project. But I like the challenge!
