How to shrink ATC tires..

I have a set of original ATC tires from a 1980 ATC 110, they have been over inflated over the years and are rubbing on the plastic, I'm restoring this ATC and would like to keep the original tires, I have been told that these OHTSU tires can actually stretch when over inflated, I have them off the rims right now and am wondering if there is a way to shrink them back to an original size, I don't want to use them now bcuz they rub, If I inflate them now so they don't rub they are not holding enough air, does anyone have a solution for shrinking these things.

If they hold air they are not junk but if they hit your fenders you can not use them unless you shim the fenders up, so they may be useable to someone but they don't sound like they are useable to you.

Boil them in a massive copper for a few hours over a fire.

OEM tires are the best. I have the original tires on my 200s still. They were designed specifically for the hard tails. There were H-trak and the H-Trak 2's. Same tread. Same ply. Same size. But ones softer for the hard tails. Closest you can get these days is 2 ply knobbies.



Side note, it's probably a combination of fender sag and over inflation. You could always get a new set of fiberglass fenders too.
