OK ok.. after a few months ( over a year still counts as a few, right? ) of collecting parts, some prodding by Jeswinehart this afternoon, I've decided to start a build thread for my 1985 Yamaha Tri-Z in Gold and Black color scheme.
I've thought about this for a few years as I had almost enough parts to build a complete bike.... Also thanks to John for a top mount tank and airbox relocation box... this will be fun..
I'll get some preliminary part pictures up here.
It's not going to be a garage queen, but a regular, nice custom daily rider.
Teasers included.....

Just got my custom seat cover in and on... I'll be getting some custom fender decals - Gold and red instead of the customary 85.5 silver and red

Whoa! That gold seat totally changed what I was expecting to see when I read black & gold. That's going to be very different. Just throwing this out there, but have you considered what it would look like if you changed (covered) all the red decals and bits with royal blue or purple? I think that would really go well with the gold & black. Just a comment.
Sorry if I sound like this guy:lol:

I'm looking forward to seeing how it all turns out. Black and gold has been done on a lot of vehicles over the years, JPS F1 cars to name one notable.
