Valve Adjustment on '85 Big Red

Hello,
Has anyone done this recently? I hear mine tapping a little bit right now and want to adjust the valves. Does someone have a repair manual or something they can scan for me? I would really appreciate it!!! Also, has anyone ever put a winch on one of these? I'm thinking about it...

hi seabass. i don't make a habit of posting ebay links but thought this one might be a big help to you ( so i don't hafta scan sevral pages from my manual for you + resize and just genrally plug the whole system up - lol )

my buddy had a hand winch on his bigred and it worked just fine. mount it to the front rack and make sure the crank has enough room to clear the side of the rack. just get the bolt pattern for the winch and weld on some plates with proper size bolts holes. an electric winch would work too. just use eyelets to hook up straight to the battery and run wires to the winch. hope this helps, peace out, tony.
