I am looking for powder coat color help, I don't have a good shop by me for powder coating powder, so I want to by it off the internet, a good supplier recommendation would be helpful as well.

I am not looking to powder coat frames, swingarms, ETC. Nor take away any business from any member that powder coats, I have all the equipment and two ovens and have powder coated a lot in the past for Hotrods.

I have a boat load of rear shock springs and a few fork sliders I want to powder coat, here is a list of the colors or codes I am looking for.

Most of the springs are 30 years old and are faded enough to make matching difficult or have been painted over.

As always any advice is greatly appreciated.

Honda red
Honda blue
Kawasaki silver
Tecate black (Don't laugh, not all black colors have the same tone)
Tri-Z yellow
Kawasaki green
Ohlins yellow
White Power/WP white (Different shade than pure white)
Suzuki yellow
Tri-Z red
Works Performance blue (It seems different than Honda blue)
Kawasaki KX blue
Kawasaki KX purple

If you guys chime in with good matches, I will keep this list updated for your future reference.

I have only dabbled in Columbia Coatings colors.
For Honda red I use Super Mirror Red
Honda Blue I used Reflex Blue (close but not exact)
I use their satin for all the black on my bike and it was damn near perfect.
Honda gold I used Gold Metallic
And for Westcoast white I used Pure white.

For reference go through my 250r build link in my Sig.

I've really only done Honda colors and not much suspension.

That's a big help, the shock springs are the same color- Example a 1985 250r rear spring is the same color (Give or take) as the stock seat cover. It's the same with a Tri-Z shock spring and frame is the same.

Honestly I tried to reply a few days ago and got the infamous "server too busy" message three times and gave up. This place will suffer the same fate as 3wheeler.org if the problems aren't fixed. It seems there are about 6 frequent posters these days and it's not surprising with the 1 in 5 chance you might be able to access the site. Sorry for the rant.

Yes as long as the big red color is passion red. I used it on a 84 250r tank that turned out really nice.

I don't recall ever seeing this thread. If I did I would have recommended these guys:

https://www.powderbuythepound.com/

Unfortunately most if not all the colors you're looking for are pre-OEM powder use and were likely proprietary then if not still.

I'd call Powder by the Pound to see if they know what gets you closest, but a perfect match in PC is a long shot. Colors like KTM orange (various tones) John Deere Green, Lincoln Red, Home Depot Orange are all custom made. To get an exact match would likely require buying a few tons and in some cases the colors are trademarked, so no one will help you.

The only matches I can offer is that Mirror Orange is as close to the pre 2012 KTM orange there is in PC. Powder Buy The Pound says they have a better match for the newer orange, but I don't recall the name.

Good luck!
