My 250SX is due for new brake shoes, looking in the dennis kirk catalog and it looks like there are various types (sintered metal, organic, kevlar). I ride mostly trails whichs means some mud and water and occasionally sand. does anybody have opinions on what to use/not to use? Any brands hold up better than others?

Man, I have tried "cheap" pads and I don't think they are worth a damn. I say OEM Honda. They are only like $25 brand new from the dealer. AS far as Perfromance, I beleive the OEM ones stop quicker, and last longer.
just my 2 cents..

I'll second that. I put aftermarket pads on my 200x and they only lasted a couple of months of not that much riding. I went with genuine Honda on my 350x and will let you know how good they are when my rear hubs show up.

Ive burned off a lot of brake pads, and tried about everything. OEM Honda or EBC pads hold up the best. Ive never found anything else even close.

Spend an extre $10 or so and get the best you can find. Cheap pads don't last.

I have heard a lot of good about the Kevlar pads...but personally have never tried them :?
My brother put new brake shoes on my old SX just before I got it. I dont know what they were, but they worked awesome ;)
