So i finally found an R. It was on CL or a few weeks for $2200, and was reposted a few days ago at $2000. Long story short i ended up getting it for $1500. No paperwork or title, just a sales reciept from the owner. He says that his dad bought it brand new, rose it about 6 years and it has been stored since. For extras i got the original rims and tires, a set of tank shrouds that are nice, an extra tank, 1 extra fork, a mostly complete extra engine with the radiators and carb, and a damn new mint 200x and 350x seat. For $1500 did i do pretty well? My first R, and relatively new too 2 strokes(other then a beat tri moto i had) so what can anybody give me for advice?? I have more pictures soon!222018

Well took it for a ride today, man this thing is crazy. An entire different element compared to the 4 strokes. Shifts through all gears fine and it just flies! Few things I did notice though. It seems to have a lot of oil coming out of the head where the pipe comes out. Is this because it's running rich? Or do I need a new flange or gasket? Not use to this set up. And when I was done riding gas started dripping out of the overflow. The petcock is siliconed on so I need a new one. Gonna take the carb off and clean it and see what happens. Here are some pics of it for now. Also picture's of all the parts I got with it.

I agree %100 !
I've been running that flange for almost 3 years now and not a hint of splooge.

Thanks for the tip! I will order one once i recoup some of my cash. Also need a petcock, as the one on it is all silicone up, and its been leaking gas slowly out the overflow. I cleaned the carb once, but it still continued to do it. Do you think my needle might be worn down?

Also my chain slider that adjusts the chain really didn't seem like it wanted to rotate. I did make sure to loosen the 2 bolts on the bottom of the carrier.

And would Ams oil mixed with 91 octane be an acceptable fuel for it? 32:1 is what i was thinking. Sorry about all the questions, the 250r is completely new too me, never had one.

Stitched up the headlight shoud and threw it on today. Its looking pretty good. I have the original rear tires and rims. Tires are pretty shot but debating getting new tires for the rims, because the gold looks much better IMO
