'Sup guys?!
I've decided i want to go a certain root with my 200X.
I need to go through the engine, and replace the center gaskets and re-time the sucker, or weld the case. whichever is the reason It's leaking oil, I need to fix :wondering :hammer

So time for the questions and reasons! :postwhore

I have decided since I still wanna ride the crap outta my 200x, but the engine is old and is hard to find replacement parts for, and I can't afford a TPC trike  I'm going to build me a "modern" trike, hopefully running for next years trike fest. Might not happen since I'm making payments on a 2012 TRX 400X quad I just bought, do to the 200x having some issues, and unable to be my main ride anymore.

I was doing some digging and came across this thread from waaaaay back in 2005

http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthread.php/41097-200x-alternative-engine-replacement/page2

I saw that a CRF 150 Engine, whether R version or not will fit, im still not sure, and a 230F will bolt right in.
Now, I'm leaning more towards the 150R. Heres my reasoning.
200X Engine: 12HP
150F :12HP
150R: 23Hp
230F: 18HP

Ok, so. Yes, 230 is bigger, but they have always been low power makers for me, and not many hop up parts. 150F is aircooled, reliable, and has some nice hopup parts to get it around 20HP+
BUT! If i can fit the rads, with some work from the 150R, thats 11Hp over a bolt in air cooled, its a race bike, with lots of hop up parts.
So what I'm asking if anyone knows if they will bolt in for sure.

Essentially, I'm wanting to modernize the powerplant for 200X. I have everything else covered, except knowing if it will bolt in, and where to put the radiators.

any help is appreciated. Thanks guys.

Did you ever do anything along these lines?

I put a built KX100 motor in mine...lighter snapper and stronger motor. the small thumpers are just underpowered once ya put them in a heavy chassis. I only did this because I had too much stuff that no one wanted after parting toys.

You can mod the frame and make most any of those motors fit. I am dropping a yx85 with 105cc BB setup in a 1st gen frame and a CR125R into a 2nd gen frame. Both will be nice setups!!
