Hey guys, I always love seeing your project photos so I thought I would post some photos of one of my trikes that recently got a new set of shoes. I wanted a set of light weight aluminum wheels and larger tires for my '85 ATC70 that would completely changed to the look of it. I think these have.
I have not been a big fan of the Holeshot tire/wheel combos looks wise and I wanted good flotation as I drag my and my neighbors beaches with the Honda 70. So I went with a different tire I know I like as I run the same model of Duros (larger size) on my custom US90 with great results.
First thing my buddy said when he saw the change was "It looks ProStreet now!......or ProTrike" which seems to describe the look well. Hope you like them too. :beer

I like the new tire setup, definitely an improvement.
On a creepier note I recognize where you live and you are only about a mile or two from me.

Nice looking polished aluminum wheels/tires. If you don't mind me asking, whats the brand wheels - tires front and rear? Looks like a "xowner" front and off set rears.

Thanks for the compliments guys, the rear is quite wide but it still turns nicely and rides better over bumps with 18" tall tires. Floats over sand like nothing, can't wait for winter driveway doughnuts and drifting. The old AMS Swamp Fox tires were good just too grabby when trying to slide on dirt, grass or even in packed snow. These should be much more fun to slide and drift on. :naughty:
JWheeler, that green stuff will be covered by white stuff in 4-5 months. I'm sure you aren't missing that part of our season.
Harry, yes that is a 7" Xowner front wheel and the rears are old beat up Mitchel 8"x8" wheels I had to cut the old tires off and polish the wheels back to life again. But it was worth it for the deep dish look and no wheel spacers. Here is before and after photos to see how bad they were.

Tires are Duro HF247 and the only size to fit in a 70 front fork required a 7" Dia wheel thus the need for staggered wheel diameters. Works good as it gives the front more sidewall to flex over bumps making the rigid ride smoother.

I know the tires are Duro brand. From the looks they are the HF-247 tire. 19x7-8 front and 18x9.5-8 rear. I know we have them in stock at the tire store.

Actually the front is smaller than that, it's an 18x7-7 hence the required 7" Dia front wheel. I really don't think a 19" Dia front tire would clear the front fender. Look how close my original 18" front Duro Thrasher was to the front fender.

The Thrasher was cushy and steered great but sometimes rocks would rub between the tire and underside of the front fender while riding. I think a 19" on the front would be unridable with the fender in the stock location.

Thanks for the compliments guys. :beer I originally planned on using some of Spangler's 8" dia race cut 4 bolt wheels as I love that look and even have a new set of DuraBlue 4 bolt rear hubs already. But to keep all tires the same model I had to run the 7" Dia front wheel and did not want to have a regular front wheel, and race cut rear wheels. Thought that might look odd so it was back to some traditional polished aluminium wheels that still look nice.
I could have race cut the front wheel to match a set of rears but it seemed silly on only a 7" dia wheel where the hub would basically cover up most of the wheel center anyway. So the extra work to hand cut the wheel and the extra $100 cost for a 4 bolt front Spangler's hub just didn't make sense for this project.
