I was looking at service honda and it looks like you have to buy the full kit to replace your fork seals. i cant find a part number for just the seal. Could i get away with a tusk fork seal or parts unlimited seal. 22.50 per side vs 12 bucks for the tusk seals on both sides.

you should use Honda OEM seals for replacement. I have blown out too many aftermarket ones, but I am a larger guy.

i did see those on ebay. Im a little skeptical as to if they are real oem seals because in the description he goes on to say he sells them without the packaging.

OK, here's a different set with the part number still on the label.

Unless you have bad fork tubes where it's not going to matter how long they last because the tubes will take them out with time, use the Honda OEM seals they are the best.

I only buy them from a high volume dealer so you will get fresh seals, seals don't get better with time, I have seen OEM NOS seals people have bought on EBAY that are not useable and stiff, even cracked, some of the packaging is pre 1992.

Always replace the dust seals too, that is the most important part.

Tip- Using SF-3 suspension grease from Noleen Racing will help your seals last and they will love you for it! and save you money in the long run. (It is expensive, but a bucket lasts forever)

I have found saving money up front costs a lot more in the long run,,, true with many items.

If you must buy non OEM seals the Tusk seals are decent because they are made in Taiwan. (Not China)

I used Bikemaster seals in mine. I also put some green grease in them before I put the dust seals on. Still good after over a year of pretty tough riding. I also have about 600cc of atf in them. I really like how they feel and they soak up the whoops and jumps without bottoming out.
