Im almost done building my zuki 160 tri runner conversion. question i have i i cut the bottom frame rail out to save weight and make the motor stressed as the suzuki dr 125l frame i used was like this. i do like to jump so anyone have any advice if this style will hold up?

For street bikes, pit bikes and entry level bikes that design works ok, I would still prefer a full frame for less flex
On a trike with a guy that likes to jump, I would go with a full frame.

i dont understand exactly what frame you had or what you are doing but removing weight from any frame weakens it, and the amount of weight saved is insignificant compared to the loss of strength and since you already cut it, i dont know what difference it makes unless you are considering welding it back in so i would just check it for cracks after every day of riding.
also, our photo is too small to see anything.

Its a lt 160/dr125se frame welded together, i already cut a bottom half out of a 200x frame and was just unsure it i should weld it on or leave it out, sounds like i should weld it on. i had a yamaha tw200 with a diamond frame and it handled pretty big air fine with no frame issues, weight DOES matter alot with a small bore bike, every pound counts, im looking to have this trike in the 280lb range if possible.

i think he meant that much frame doesnt weigh enough to count when considering how much extra strength it provides...

not when it sacrifice's safety in my opinion, especially since there is no big money or national championship on the line . . if it breaks on a big jump causing your leg to smash into the ground putting what is left of your bones thru your skin, you will understand what i mean.
since you have grafted two completely different frames together, i cant guestimate if its safe or not without the additional piece.
also, a 3 wheeler is not a 2 wheeler . . there are different forces exerted on them so you cant compare a 2 wheeler frame directly to a 3 wheeler one.
