How much is an 84-85 Tecate worth if its been totally restored? Ive had this 3 wheeler for 8 years now and have redone everything. This is the Tecate on the Restoration page under Gary's Tecate. The powder coat color scheme is mint and everything is painted or polished. I have new ITP T9 Pro series rims, Titan Fast trekkers tires, top end, liquid cooling, electrical, brakes, paint, cables, DG Pipe and Silencer, rebuilt suspension front and back, new flame seat cover, Maier Fenders front and rear, all new bearings throughout the entire frame and rear, powder coated and polished engine cases, new fastner kit for the motor and a few other goodies. I will be selling this Tecate this spring-summer and I know I wont get what I have into it but I would like to get what a three wheeler like this is worth to a serious collector. Please help me out, im not familiar with top end trike prices. Thank you.

get what ever it is worth to you, that would be fair, My 250r is priceless to mee although it probably isnt worth more than 1500 to a collector, I wouldnt sell it anyways.

You need to post a pic of the complete bike but from what I see on the resto page it is a nice bike. I'm restoring mine and when I get done I'll have over $3000 Canadian in it but to others it will never be worth that. I say less than 2000 for yours.

I will have pics of the Tecate soon. My builder said we would be building next week. As soon as I get some good Digies I will send em in. I have a feeling I may not want to sell it once its finished.

Why would you want to sell it in the first place? Doing all that work and taking your time to make less then what you put into it?

I want to restore my tri z,but have to go through the motor first. After that i will powdercoating the frame, swingarm, and hubs. And if i can get a good deal on it,i may have other things powdercoated, but will see!

i wouuld say that to a collecter your tecate is not gonna be worth much, here is why, they did not have powdercoated frames and polished engines or any other modification like that. that is not a restored bike, that is a modded bike(and i am sure that yours is really nice) restored bikes are just that restored to oe spec, they are the bikes that a collecter will pay money for unless yours has some special history(racing or famous owner) it is worth about the same all the rest. unless you find the right buyer

I thought all atv/atc's frames are powdercoated from the factory??

nope, its paint. at least on mine(and i had one new(tecate) and it was paint) if it was powdercoat, you would not wear the coating away frome your boots and such. my new(i put it together from the crate) trx250r is painted on the frame, as is my 86 tecate and my 85 atc250r and my 85 tecate. it is not practical for mass production to powdercoat, otherwise your car would be powdercaoted right? also if it was powdercoated and it got hit by say, a rock it would crack and chip. paint chips too, but powdercaot is more susceptable to impact damage as it is like a shell, it does not have the give of paint...oh polised stuff also runs much hotter than non polished(it has less surface area to dissapate heat from)

Hey dude,I have seen that on the resto page, and that is going to be the sickest '84 KXT ever!I don't think it will be worth much to a collecter, but to the right person...I would like to see some pics, but I say you should get $2500 easy.I would not sell it though.
