Im in the process of restoring a 350x i recently purchased but i cant seem to figure out if the airfilter is supposed to have a metal screen in it or not. The parts fiche websites dont show one nor does the manual but it does reference a element holder. So does the 350x need a metal screen inside it or not?If so does anybody have an extra i could buy?

Yes it requires a filter cage for the foam filter or you could just buy a k@n filter that doesn't use the factory cage .

Just put an UNI in it. Or a K&N but I prefer the oiled foam UNIs.

I have a moose filter that came with it but won't it collapse without the screen?

The UNIs have a spring in them. Does your Moose? I never used one.

Nope just a foam filter nothing more. Guess I'll order a uni then if I don't need the holder for that. Don't think the k and n would be good cuz its very dusty here
