What's the difference in the 84-85 axle hubs? Does the 85 have the same bolt pattern as 86? I've seen pics of hubs that look like 86 ones but have the splines of the 84-85 axle.

84 = 4x4" pattern, course splines
85 = 4x156mm pattern, coarse splines
86+ = 4x156mm pattern, fine splines
84 hubs with the little bolt pattern let you run 8" rims if you want.
84/85 hubs fit 84/85 axles.
They did make an aftermarket axle for 86/87 that was extendeed and used 84/85 splines.

Westcoast also made hubs the had 4x4 spacing with the 86/87 splines.

Alright cool that's what I wanted to hear. Im running an 84 axle on my 86 and i want my 86 wheels on there. Just temporary until I can get an 86 carrier.
