Looking for some answers on my little 60 Tri Zinger. It will start up and idle fine. When I put the switch from start to run, it begins to idle high and will take off without giving it any gas. I can move switch back to start and it will idle fine again. Any suggestions on this?

Assuming all stock...

Start position has a rev limiter to prevent exactly what you describe. Basically, so JR. can't drive off before either of you are ready.

Run position does not.

When in run, try turning the idle down on the carb. Then check and see how it runs in start.

I'm guessing the idle is high and bouncing off the rev limiter (such as it is) when in start position.

On a side note, any chance it has an air leak somewhere?

Thanks. I will check it again this weekend and try to adjust the carb.
